La Chorale des Enfants de la Rive-Sud est constituée d’élèves âgés de 8 à 16 ans qui fréquentent principalement les écoles des centres de services scolaires Riverside et Marie-Victorin. Fondée en 1984 par Betty-Jo Christiani, Directrice Musicale, la chorale a réalisé un niveau élevé de représentation et est devenu largement connu sur le Rive-Sud de Montréal. En 1990, à l’invitation du « Hiroshima Broadcasting Children’s Choir », la chorale a visitée le Japon, et a exécutée la musicale « Anne of Green Gables » dans quatres villes.  La chorale a également participée aux échanges avec le Choeur de la Jeunesse de Symphonie de Terre-Neuve de St John, le « Southend Girls’ Choir » de l’Angleterre, et avec le « White Rock Children’s Choir’ de la Colombie-Britannique. Le choeur a participé aux festivals choraux internationaux importants comprenant Unisong 1996 et 2006 à Ottawa, en 1999 à Niagara Falls, Ontario, et à Vancouver en 2007 pour le « Coastal Sound Festival ». Le 25ème anniversaire du CERS a été marquer en 2008. Le choeur a été invité à participer à un concert pour des choeurs des enfants chez Carnegie Hall en mai 2009. En juin 2012, le choeur est fier d’avoir participé au « Sing a Mile High Children’s Choir Festival » à Denver, Colorado.

The SSCC consists of students aged 8 to 16 years from various South Shore schools. Founded in 1984 by Betty-Jo Christiani, the choir has achieved a high standard of performance and has become widely known on the South Shore of Montreal. In 1990, the SSCC toured Japan, at the invitation of the Hiroshima Broadcasting Children’s Choir, presenting the musical “Anne of Green Gables” and performing in four cities.  The choir has also participated in exchanges with the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Choir of St. John’s, Newfoundland, the Southend Girls’ Choir from England and with the White Rock Children’s Choir from British Columbia. The choir has participated in major international choral festivals including Unisong 1996 and 2006 in Ottawa, in 1999 in Niagara Falls Ontario, and in the 2007 Coastal Sound Festival in Vancouver. 2008 marked the 25th Anniversary of the SSCC. The choir was invited to participate in a children’s choir concert at Carnegie Hall in May 2009. In June 2012, the choir is proud to have participated in the “Sing a Mile High Children’s Choir Festival” in Denver, Colorado.
